About this project

An independent research project, run from India, measuring which freelance platforms are actually open to Indian engineers.

Why it started

It started as a personal problem. Applying for remote and contract engineering work from India means running into the same advice everywhere: sign up for Upwork, try Braintrust, make a Contra profile. After enough weeks of silence, the obvious question is whether those platforms were ever open in the first place.

So instead of guessing, each one got opened and counted. The answers were worse than expected, and specific enough to be worth writing down properly.

What this is

One PDF, sold once, at ₹20. There is no course, no mentorship, no community, no subscription, and no upsell after the download. If that changes, this page changes with it.

What it will never do

On being new

This project is new, and pretending otherwise would undercut the only thing it is selling — that the numbers are real. What should earn your ₹20 is that the method is published on the methodology page and every claim is checkable, not that a landing page says "trusted by thousands".

Questions, corrections and refund requests all go to the same place, and a person answers: the support page.
